Firm provides single window solution for filing, prosecution and maintenance of patent, design and trademark applications in Bhutan.

Bhutan is not a member of PCT therefore filing of PCT National phase patent application is not possible in Bhutan.

However, patent applications can be filed in Bhutan under Paris Convention claiming priority from foreign countries. Timeline to file a patent application under Paris convention is 12 months from the priority date.

Timeline for filing trademark and design applications in Bhutan claiming priority from foreign application under Paris Convention is 6 months from the priority date.
Bhutan patent office accepts applications in English language.

A Power of Attorney, Proof of Right/Declaration by the inventors and certified copy of priority document is required but filing of these documents at the time of filing the application is not mandatory and these documents can be filed later also.
