Patent is a territorial statutory right granted by the Government to the patentee for an invention, for a limited period of time, in exchange of full disclosure of his invention, for excluding others, from making, using, selling, offering for sale or importing the patented product or a product directly obtained by a patented process or using a patented process without his consent.
Indian Patent Office accepts Indian applications, PCT International applications, PCT national phase applications upto 31 months from earliest priority date and convention applications upto 12 months from earliest priority date.
